A word from Grandma Parentville:
Remember when our kids were babies? They slept on their tummies so their little heads wouldn’t “flatten”. We let them cry themselves to sleep so we didn’t “spoil” them. We drove around with them in the back seat like a bag of groceries. Well, we are so much smarter these days. We’ve learned about Safe Sleep and Tummy Time. We know we can’t possibly spoil an infant – that those cries mean “I need you”. And we learned babies break even easier than eggs when tossed around!
What else do we need to catch up on for the sake of our grandchildren? Go ahead- browse through our website and see what science, medicine, and educators have learned over the years and how this will make our grandchildren safer, healthier, and smarter. Because isn’t that what we all want for the kiddos?
What hasn’t changed is that babies develop better and happier when there are loving and nurturing adults in their lives – the parents, yes – but also the grandparents! National surveys show that parents will turn to their own parents more often than any other source for trusted advise on parenting. After all, we raised them and taught them their first lessons on parenting. Isn’t it great that we get to do this again now that we are smarter and wiser?
